What all the OpenUp features actually do
No marketing language. Just a clear guide to Hugs, Kindness, SoulSync, Yuhi and the rest.

Posts and comments
The main feed is where people share what they are carrying and other members respond. You do not need to turn the story into an inspirational ending. A real update can be uncertain, ordinary or unfinished.
Comments are for support, questions and shared understanding. They are not a place to diagnose strangers or compete over who has suffered more.
Hugs and Kindness
A Hug is the simplest response. It says that somebody saw the post when advice would be too much. It is intentionally different from a like; pain is not content to approve.
Kindness recognises a supportive comment that genuinely helped. The receiver chooses it, and it contributes to the writer's Kindness Score. Posting more does not increase that score.
Vent Box and Confessions
Vent Box is for getting a thought out of your head and into words. Confessions gives space to say the thing you keep rehearsing privately. Both features still need boundaries around safety and other people's privacy.
Writing can create relief because it turns a vague weight into something you can look at. It may also show you that a problem needs a practical next step.
SoulSync and Moments
SoulSync is designed around a shared emotional state. It helps people find a conversation where less explanation may be needed. Moments offer a full-screen, immediate way to share what is happening now.
Neither feature guarantees friendship or perfect understanding. They create chances for contact. What members do with those chances matters more than the mechanism.
Hope Jar, Time Capsule and Soundscape Room
Hope Jar saves words that helped so you do not have to search for them again on a bad day. Time Capsule lets you write to your future self. Soundscape Room offers ambient sound when your mind needs less input, not more.
These are small tools, not treatments. Their value is in helping a person pause, remember or create a little structure.
Yuhi
Yuhi is OpenUp's AI companion. It can listen, help you find words and guide you towards features in the app. It can also misunderstand things because AI is not a person and should not be treated as one.
Yuhi is not a therapist or emergency service. Think of it as a conversational tool inside OpenUp, not an authority over your life.
Try what is useful and ignore what is not
You do not have to use every feature. OpenUp should adapt to different ways of communicating, not force everybody through the same wellness routine.
